Dr. Pedro R. Moreno

Dr. Pedro R. Moreno is a distinguished interventional cardiologist, cardiovascular researcher and academic physician at the Mount Sinai Health System in New York. His clinical practice focuses on interventional cardiology, coronary artery disease, cardiac catheterization, angiography, coronary stenting and aortic stenosis repair. Mount Sinai reports that he performs hundreds of invasive coronary procedures annually—including diagnostic catheterizations, angioplasties and coronary stenting—with a reported success rate above 99% and major complications below 1%.

Dr. Pedro R. Moreno is a leading interventional cardiologist and cardiovascular researcher at Mount Sinai, with particular expertise in atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease and acute coronary syndromes. His pioneering research into inflammation, macrophages, plaque rupture and vulnerable coronary plaques has helped deepen understanding of the biological mechanisms behind heart attacks. Alongside his clinical work in complex coronary intervention, he continues to contribute through research, cardiovascular quality leadership, academic medicine and mentoring of the next generation of cardiologists.
